Sports Math: The Math of the Game
Sports Math: The Math of the Game is a class for grades 5โ6 taught by Mr. Colten, who brings a love of sports into the learning experience.
Using football, basketball, hockey, and baseball as the backdrop, students explore important math skills in a way that feels active, relevant, and fun.
Throughout the class, students will work with real-world examples like player statistics, shooting percentages, yardage, averages, area, distance, speed, and score comparisons. The goal is to help students see that math is not just something found on a worksheet โ it is part of the games they watch, play, and talk about every day.
This class is a great fit for learners who enjoy sports, hands-on discussion, and practical examples that make math easier to understand and remember.

Small class size for more individual attention.
